Since the 1920s the Plantation has its own beach bay, the then owner had it built for his own family. Jan Thiel Beach, which is located just within a 10-minute car drive. At the beach there are different beach clubs, lovely restaurants and busy bars. You can hop on the catamaran towards Klein Curacao, enjoy the beautiful sunset with a cocktail, check out the live performances and the most famous Happy Hour on Curacao at Zanzibar. Are you looking more for the local atmosphere, you must visit the Caracasbaai beach, it’s just around the corner and on evening and weekends crowded with local Curacao families. On the peninsula just passing Fort Beekenburg is Directeurs Baai an unspoilt little bay which is great for snorkeling.

Zanzibar Beach & Restaurant

Located at the eastern part of the island, at Jan Thiel Beach, you can find the charming Zanzibar Beach & Restaurant. As the name implies, the bar and the restaurant radiate warmth and coziness of East Africa.

During the whole day, enjoy a good cup of coffee or cappuccino, a cool smoothie, a refreshing beer, a soda, cocktail or delicious mixed drink. Rent a comfortable beach bed or a lounge bed and enjoy a relaxing day on the beach. If you would like to escape the heat of the sun, our beach offers shade under one of the many palm trees. Zest Mediterranean

The dishes form an impressive combination of the culinary specialties from the Mediterranean area. The menu presents fresh pasta’s, pure fish and meat dishes and tasty desserts.

Zest Mediterranean is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Open from 9:00AM till midnight. The kitchen is open until 10:00 PM.
