De bladeren van dit gewas werden geweekt in stenen bakken \u2013 ze staan er nog steeds \u2013 om zo de bekende diepblauwe kleurstof te maken.<\/p>\n<p>Het terrein van Plantage Jan Thiel liep in vroeger tijden helemaal tot aan de kustlijn.
